24-Egg Drawer Storage Box

This 24 egg drawer storage box holds two dozen eggs in two pull out drawers behind a clear front, so a carton never has to come out of the fridge again. Egg cartons are the problem: they do not stack reliably, they tear, and the only way to see what is left is to open the lid and look.

Two drawers is what makes it work day to day. Pull the lower one for the older eggs and leave the upper one untouched, rather than lifting a lid and shuffling a whole tray to reach the back. Each drawer takes twelve, so you can load a new dozen above and work through the old dozen below without ever mixing them. The clear body means a glance from across the kitchen tells you how many are left, which is the thing a cardboard carton can never do.

At 21.5 by 22 by 14 centimeters it sits on a standard fridge shelf without claiming the whole thing, and the flat top takes another box stacked on it. The drawers lift out for washing and the molded egg wells hold each one upright so nothing rolls when the door swings. Wipe clean with a damp cloth.
